The movie Deadline premieres at the Pittsburgh Waterfront this week. Inspired by a true story, Deadline is adapted from Mark Ethridge's novel Grievances about the murder of an African American youth in rural Alabama. The crime went uninvestigated and unsolved for almost twenty years until a reporter stepped in to uncover the truth. Mark Ethridge joins us on Essential Pittsburgh to talk about the movie and the story behind the film.
