Ten years ago this month the eyes of the nation were on Somerset County. The drama on nine miners trapped in the Quecreek mine was unfolding. Rescue teams worked around the clock to save the miners. We’ll mark tenth anniversary of the miracle at Quecreek. Taking part in the conversation will be Mark Nootbaar, Essential Public Radio assignment editor, who reported on the event. We’ll also hear a report from Essential Public Radio reporter Kevin Gavin, who spoke with Joe Sbaffoni, DEP’s Director of Deep Mine Safety. We’ll also learn about next week’s events to the mark the anniversary with Bill Arnold, President of the Quecreek Mine Rescue Foundation.
