Jesse Kowalski at the Andy Warhol Museum talks about the specialized job of transporting the Warhol art car
The Warhol and Cars exhibit at the Andy Warhol Museum ends this week. It was the first exhibition to examine Warhol’s fascination with automobiles as products of American consumer culture. One interesting feature of the exhibit has been a BMW M-1 racing car that was hand-painted by Warhol in 1979. Jesse Kowalski, Director of Exhibitions at the Warhol Museum, talks about the importance of the car to the art world and the tedious job of moving it in and out of the museum.
